TUHWALP Facilities

The TUHWALP facilities began construction in 2012 to create state-of-the-art facilities to investigate issues in horizontal wells. TUHWALP currently operates three state-of-the-art experimental test facilities and various advanced measurement instrumentations together with access to additional flow assurance loops under other research consortia and JIPs. 6" Horizontal Well Facility

6" facilityThis facility is designed to study multiphase flow behavior and to test artificial lift performance in a horizontal well. The effect of trajectories and perforations on flow behavior and artificial lift applications can be studied using this facility.

2-in Horizontal Well Facility

2" FacilityThis facility operates with gas/water and has been designed to study the effects of well trajectory on flow behavior for horizontal gas and condensate wells. Several well configurations can be simulated in this facility such as toe-down, toe-up, hilly terrain-sump and hilly terrain-hill.

Modified 2-in. Horizontal Well Facility for End-of-Tubing Research

This facility is the modification of TUHWALP’s 2-in. flow facility that operates with compressed air and tap water to study the effects of different EOT locations on multiphase flow behavior and determine the optimum EOT.
